MOST SPORTS OFF

HEAVY RAIN AFFECTS GROUND Heavy rain last night affected most of the playing areas in the city to-day, and with the exception of first grade Soccer all competition games in field sport were postponed. The women’s hockey tournament at Melton has been postponed until next week.

The only Rugby fixture left standing was the game between the police side and Invercargill Marists. which was to have provided the curtain-raiser at Carisbrook. It was transferred to Ravcnsbourne.
