BURNS CLUB

MONTHLY CONCERT The monthly concert of the Dunedin Burns Club in the Concert Chamber last night "was presented to a large audience. A feature of the programme was the playing of selections by Begg’s Orchestra, under the baton of Mr J. F. Himburg. During the performance a Scottish Standard was presented to the club by Miss Clonston. The programme was as follows: —Pipe selection, Piper J. M'Vean; song, Mrs John C. M'Farlane; violin solo, Miss E. White; Begg’s Orchestra; talk, ‘ The Mercantile Kavy,’ Captain P. B. Tether; Irish jig. Master Jack Miller; Begg’s Orchestra; song, Miss D. Darracott; cornet solo, Mr R. Francis. Mr Arthur Macdonald was chairman, and the accompanist was Miss Ruby White, At the conclusion of the concert a social and dance was held, the M.C.s being Messrs J. Jeffrey and J. W. Sutherland;
