EMPIRE PRESS PROTEST (Bee. 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, June 10. The Empire Press Union Council passed a resolution protesting emphatically against broadcasting by the. 8.8. C. to the Empire news, which, because of time of release and censorship restrictions, is withheld from the dominions Press. The council resolved to renew representations to the Ministry of Information deploring the unfair situation, and to ask for enforcement of regulations providing, firstly, that identical time of release and censorship restrictions apply to the 8.8. C. and to the overseas Empire Press; secondly, that the time involved in Press transmisison to the dominions be considered in connection with such identical time of release; thirdly, that in future cases where unfair advantage accrues to the 8.8. C. through broadcasting news withheld from the dominions Press, all restrictions against the transmissions of such news be automatically withdrawn.
