SUBVERSIONISTS PUNISHED [Pee United Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, May 16. Sentences of 12 months in gaol wera imposed to-day by Mr Justice Northcroft on Eric Alexander Jackson and Harold James Greatorex. Jackson was found guilty_ on two charges of having documents in his possession with a view ■to facilitating tho publication of a subversive statement, and Greatorex was found guilty on a similar charge. Addressing Jackson, the Judge said it would be appropriate if Jackson could be imprisoned for the duration of tho war, but the maximum penalty provided was 12 months, to which Jackson was sentenced on each charge, tho sentences to be concurrent. w Yon are clearly a menace to the commiiir+v." said the Judge in sentencing Greatorex.
