MR BE VALERA'S WARNING HEADY TO DEFEND NEUTRALITY i LONDON, April 14. Although Eire had proclaimed her neutrality in a manner wlncn no one could mistake, said Mr do Valera m a broadcast, tho dangers increased every day the war continued. “ Should we he called upon to defend our neutrality,” he said, ” it will mean suffering and death to many. But we must accustom ourselves to this thought and learn to look in the face all that may hcfall ns.” ■ Air de Valera referred to the Government’s plans for the evacuation of women and children in the event of an emergency, and said that the population should show strict discipline and act as a united people. “ If we have to take np arms.” he concluded. “ we will know we are fighting for all that is dear to us and we will know that our cause is just.”
