NAZIS URGING JAPAN ON
LONDON, March 10. “ Disappointed in their failure to drag Japan into the war so far, the Nazis are making fresh efforts to persuade the Japanese they are _ strong enough to fight both the British Empire and the United States,” writes the * Daily Telegraph ’ naval correspondent.
The Munich paper, ‘ Neueste Nachriehten,’ said: “ Japan’s navy is stronger to-day than the American Pacific Fleet. Even the most unscrupulous warmongers can never deceive themselves into the belief that American armaments, either' on sea or land, are ready for an offensive campaign. At least three battleships have been added to the 10 Japan previously possessed.” “ None of these assertions bears investigation,” says the naval correspondent. “ The United States Fleet is superior to the whole Japanese navy in the number of its units, and especially in the marked preponderance of its air arm. Nor is it certain that any of the new Japanese battleships are yet ready for service.”
