FRENCH INDUSTRY PROSPECTS OF RESTARTING DISCUSSED LONDON, March 25. * The Times ’ says that M. JBrinon has gone to Paris from Vichy after discussing the possibility of restarting French industry fully. Numerous important orders are ready to be placed, presumably by Germany, because M. Brinon discussed the question of making available German raw materials to factories accepting orders. The food shortage in unoccupied France docs not improve and further cats in the bread, meat, poultry, and trgg rations will be introduced soon. Stocks are officially half of what they were last summer, but illicit stocks are abundant and illicit trade flourishes. Private individuals also have largo stocks because food hoarding has been going on on a large scale since the armistice.
