The last round of matches in this grade will bo played next Saturday, and Roslyn have only to defeat North-east Valley to win the shield. It was unfortunate for St. Clair that they were without the services of their first man, J. Patterson, who was absent in camp. Roslyn must account themselves one of the luckiest teams if they win the A grade, for when they defeated Kaituna this club’s first lady was absent, while they won from University by default. On the day they jdayed Cosy Doll E. D. Duthie was not available for them, and Cosy Dell were without the services of A. Cameron Notes. ; Owing to the slate of Hie weather the opening of the new courts at Oamaru was postponed, and it is hoped to hold the ceremony next Saturday. The match between an Otago team and Eastern Districts could not bo played last Monday on account of the weather. Position of Teams. The following is the position of the teams in tho B 11. grade and C Grade. —B 11. Grade.—

Easter Tournaments. Entries for the Otago championship and handicap tournament close with the secretary of the association on Monday next, March 31. at 9 a.m. The indications are that a good entry will bo received, and that the tournament will be successful. A strong committee* under Mr A. T. Jensen, should ensure the smooth running of events. Four championship and five handicap events are listed for the Easter tournament of the Tuapeka Sub-association at Roxburgh. Entry forms may be obtained from Mr G. N. Jeffrey, Box 54, Roxburgh, with whom entries close on Wednesday, April 9. UNION NOTES [By Skiiveu.] j Saturday’s Games. A Grade. —Macandrew Bay avenged their first round*-defeat by disposing of Tokotoru. by 10 sets to 6. The strength of the winners lay with their men, who took three singles and tho two doubles. The Tokotoru ladies won three singles and the doubles were shared. Misses Churchill and Ruston played well to beat Miss Foote and Mrs Allen. Both these ladies should do well in tho forthcoming championships. Allan, Shallard, Woodhouse, and Mrs Mercer, for the winners, and the consistent Miss Churchill, for the losers, each won three sets. Kaikorai and Forbury, two lower teams, had a fine afternoon’s play. The Hill ladies socurel three singles and both doubles. Forbury won the four men’s singles and the two doubles. Tho mixed were shared. Mrs Jakeway, for Kaikorai, and Gillions and F. Sims, for the winners, each won three sets

Wakari beat Holy Cross by 13 sets to 3 in a match where the score <lid not indicate the true situation. Three 9-8, four 7-5, one 8-6, and one 9-7 sets gave a fairer indication of the closeness of the match. Robertson and Mrs Robertson are still topnotchers in the mixed doubles. Rogers and Miss Clarke are also playing well. Watts and Spiers were the most consistent for the losers. Sutton and Robertson played well to beat Rogers and Belcher. Aotea and Kensington had a great duel, the former team just winning by 6 games, sets being even. Miss Marrett played well to beat Miss Colquhoun, 6-0, and Misses Firman and M'Callum showed fine combination to boat Misses Turnbull ' and Sharpe. Miss M'Gallum, a promoted junior, is to be congratulated in winning throe sots. Other throe-sets winners were M‘Vie, who has played consistently throughout the season, and Miss Lcathley, both of Aotca. Aotea and Wakari are now level with 18 points, Holy Cross 16, Kensington and Ravensbonrne 14 points. The two leaders will play off next Saturday on a court to bo arranged. Intermediate Grade.—Dundas beat, East Ta.ieri by 11 seta to 5, thus securing the position of runners-up in this grade. Lawry and Mrs Lawry, Misses Birrell and Carr, and M'Kinlay and G. Lawry, for the winners, and Misses J. and A. Mitchell and White and Craigio for the losers were in good form. Fire Brigade now have 22 points, Dundas 18. East Taieri 16, Aotea 14. Kiwi 12. Eire Brigade and Kiwi have a match to play, but the result cannot alter the positions of the teams, and Fire Brigade are the winners for the season.

B Grade. —By defeating Wakari by 9 sets to 7. Normal won the B grade comnetiticn. Wakari and North-east Valley Baptists have yet to play, but the result does not alter the final placings.
