NEW ZEALAND CASUALTIES

THE LATEST LIST [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 13. The following air casualties are reported by the International Red Cross: — , Flying-officer Ronald William Gair, 1 R.A.F., missing but believed to have been killed on operations. His father is Mr C. J. Gair, Wel- - lingtoa. Pilot-officer _ Gair was previously reported missing. He (was educated at the Napier Boys’ •High School, where he was prominent in sport. He was granted a temporary commission in April, , 1936, and left for England early in 1939. Flight-lieutenant Charles Ewen Winders Evison. R.A.E., reported missing but believed to be a prisoner of war. His brother is Mr F. C. Evison, of Barfield, Canterbury, i Flight-lieutenant Evison was educated at the Ashburton High ; School and left New Zealand in j 1937 to commence service with the /E.A.F. under a short-service commission. The deaths of the following officers are now presumed on the dates shown:— Flying-officer Thomas George Bassett, R.A.F., May, 1940. He was reported missing in May last. His father is' Mr J. L. Bassett, of Te Kopuru, North Auckland. After securing his wings at Wigram, Fly-ing-officer Bassett left for England in 1938. Pilot-officer Gerald Montague Bailey. R.A.F., May, 1940. He was reported missing in May last. His mother is Mrs N. F. Bailey, of Gordontown, via Taupiri. The following casualties to members of the Second N.Z.E.F. arc reported:— Sapper Patrick Steward M'Allister. suffering from shock. Hi* mother is Mrs 0. M'Allister, of Wnimatenui, Kaikohe. Sapper Allen Francis Loose, suffering from shock. Plis wife is Mrs <l. Loose, of Sydenham. Christchurch. Sapper Alan Kidson Lines suffering from shock. His wife is Mrs J. W.
