ALIENS AT LARGE

HASTINGS R.S.A. ACTION THREAT OF " PICKETING " [Per United Press Association.] HASTINGS, March 12. Strong indignation at what was described as Government action in permitting a number of enemy aliens to remain at large was voiced at the annual reunion of tho Hastings Returned Soldiers’ Association to-night, and tbe following resolution was carried:— “ That this meeting views with great regret tho fact that the R.S.A. has not taken a sufficiently strong line of action in regard to the internment of aliens, and wishes to inform the headquarters of the association that unless some more satisfactory attitude is adopted Hie local association will with regret have to consider the question of taking local action.”

Asked what he meant by “ looal action,” the mover of the resolution, Colonel H. Holderness, said : “ Picketing, and every soldier knows what that means.”
