ANNUAL MEETING Mr J. Friend presided over a small attendance'at the annual meeting of the Taiori Poultry Society. The secretary (Mr George Hendry) presented the annual report and balance sheet, which weie aaopte'rhe following office-bearers were elected: —President, Mr J. Friend; , vice-president, Mr G. Smeaton; committee—Messrs R. Smeaton, A. Murdoch, R. Ailken, P. Bathgate E. J. Wilson, J. P. Walls, D. Ashfey ’A. S. Waldie, E. Swanson, G. A. Grant, W. H. Townrow, J. Williamson, J. Mitchell, S. Riach, W. Woods, A. Walker, and B. Mathcson; Schedule Committee— Messrs J. Mitchell, G. Smeaton, J. Williamson, J. I*.-Walls, and the secretary; auditors, Messrs John Williamson and J. P. Walls. The Secretary gave notice of his resignation, as he could not spare the time for the work. The appointing of a successor, or of obtaining an assistant, was discussed, and it was decided to leave the matter over till next meeting. Advice was received that the following championships had been allotted to the Taicri show, to be held on June 28: —Any variety drake or duck (open class), fantail pigeon, and pink-eye budgerigar. On the’suggestion of the Dunedin Utility Poultry Club it was decided to meet that hodv at a special meeting in Mosgicl on March 29. The remit that a supply of uniform schedules be prepared by the South Island

Poultry Association for the use of affiliated clubs was discussed, but members did not favour the suggestion. They considered that the present arrangements were more acceptable. On Mr Mitchell's suggestion it was decided to give consideration to a proposal to send remits to the next association meeting as follows:—(1) To apply to the Government for concessions to poultry club delegates attending association meetings; and (2) that the headquarters of the association be located in different districts every few years*
