DROVE AFTER WARNING

INTOXICATED MOTORIST SENTENCED [Per United Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, February 24. Raymond Sydney Carter (35), an aocountant, was sentenced to 14 day* with hard labour in the Petone Court to-day for intoxication when in charge of a car yesterday afternoon. His license was cancelled for a year.

The police said a constable saw Carter and two soldiers drinking beer in a parked car- At Constable Lee s suggestion Carter handed over the keys of the car, but later the constable hoard the car being started and saw Carter driving away. He gave chase in another car and stopped Carter, who was taken to a doctor and certified utu fit to drive.
