OTAGO'S WOOL GliP TO DATE THIRD APPRAISEMENT REALISES £497,050 The expectation that the third local wool appraisement, which commenced on Janued, would return a half-million in gross proceeds, has been proved not so far out. The return for 28,284 bales was £497,050 16s Bd, an average of £l7 11s 6d a bale. The return to "the province to dale for the three appraisements is £74,000 short of £1,000,000 lor 53,860 bales. Details of the three appraisements are; AugU'l (mainly cruleliings). Hales. 3.819; uro'-s proceeds, £43.779 11' 4d ; average a hale, £l2 15s sd. December.- Hale-, 21.757; gni" proceeds, £330. 261 14s sd; average a hale, £W 9s " Kebruary.- Hales, 28.284; gross proceeds., £-197 050 16s 8d ; average a bale, £l7 Ilf 6d. Total. Hales 53,860; gross proceeds, £985,095 2s 7d.
