1 LIFE-SAVERS* EFFORT WIDE RANGE OF ATTRACTIONS With a view to raising funds to improve the equipment of the St. Clair Lite Saving Chib, a carnival was opened last night on the promenade alter having been postponed from the previous night owing to unfavourable weather. A wido variety of pastimes, competitions and other amusements had been arranged, and these were thoroughly tested by the appreciative attendance. Proprietary devices such as the merry-go-round and the Hying horses were as well patronised as ever, and hoop-las, roll-downs, skittles, darts, and other games also attracted numerous patrons.
