PETROL COUPONS AND CASH
THIEF RAIDS GARAGE A GOOD HAUL [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH. December 10. Petrol coupons for 1,000 gallons wer« stolen from the strongroom of Blackwells Motors Ltd. during the week-end, with cash amounting to £l7 from petrol sales on Saturday afternoon. The strongroom, from which the coupons and cash were stolen is generally used by the firm for its books and records, and was locked up in the usual way by an attendant after Saturday afternoon’s sales. Later it was apparently reopened with a key and locked after the removal of its contents. The stolen petrol coupons were being held by the firm for subsequent transfer to the oil fuel authorities. They have no identification or cancellation marks, and are eligible for further petrol purchases during the remaindei of December.
