CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLI- , DAYS, 1940-1941. DAILY RUNNING OP MAIL AND EXPRESS TRAINS. FROM SATURDAY, 14lh December, to TUESDAY, 4th February, inclusive, the following Mail and Express .Trains will run DAILY (Sundays excepted):— The 8.35 a.m, CHRISTCHURCH-INVER-CARGILL EXPRESS TRAIN. Will also run from/Christchurch to Dunedin only on Sundays, 22nd and 29th December, and sth January, connecting with 5.20 p.m. Express Train for Invercargill. The 7.0 a.m. INVERGARGILL-LYTTEL-TON EXPRESS TRAIN. Will also run from Dunedin to Lyttelton on Sundays, 22nd and 29th December and sth January, connecting with Steamer Express for Wellington. The 12.25 p.m. CHRISTCHURCH-DUN-EDIN and 8.45 a.m. DUNEDIN-CHRlST-ch;urch mail trains. The 8.33 a.m. DUNEDIN-INVERCAR-GILL ami 1.25 p.m. INVERCARGILLDUNEDIN Mail Trains will-run DAILY as usual. On 23rd, 24th, and 25th December and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th January those trains will run between DUNEDIN and GORE only, and Mail Trains will leave DUNEDIN for INVERCARGILL at 9.0 a.m. and INVERCARGILL for DUNEDIN at 1.45 p.m. on these dates. On Mondays during the above period the 8.35 a.m. Christchurch-Dunedin Mail Train (Dunedin arrive 5.1 p.m.) will NOT run. The Night Express Train leaving Invercargill at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday, 22nd December, will connect at Christchurch with train for L3'ttelton Wharf, connecting with Daylight trip of Steamer Express.
