PRIVILEGED DOGS
A water spaniel in Maine, United States of Americai who has accompanied his master on daily lobstering trips for 12 years, has just received a fishing license. Other unusual privileges have been bestowed upon dogs in various countries because ot their bravery, loyalty, or plain lovability. Public Office.—ln California a dog is official lifeguard at an ocean resort. A French alpine army post once had a canine postman. Following his bravery during a fire which threatened his native city, a Kansas dog became the country’s only regularly-paid four‘‘’E’ohtar’ticense,. - Knee-Ht, . Philadelphia pet, received a license from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction to teach traffic safety. A member of the Rotary Club of Philadelphia, he also has a certificate from the Department of Public Safety. . Passes. A canine film tan is permitted to attend a Vancouver theatre free of charge. The animal occupies a seat throughout the performance. Other dogs have been given entry into churches and at symphony recitals as regular patrons.—New York ‘ Times.’
