‘THE TWO MRS CARROLLS ’
SMART MODERN FROGKING A modern play, in the setting of the French Riviera, provides a background for the smart frocking which will be a feature of the Repertory Society’s production in His Majesty’s Theatre, which commences this evening until Saturday. Mrs Katrina Speight, who plays the leading role as Sally, the second Mrs Carroll, appears in the first scene in act I. in a satin laste.x bathing suit and white towelling robe, and for the second scene she wears a smart blno-and-white shotted dress. For the last act Sally appears in a rich black velvet dinner gown. Madame Bellugue, as Clemence, the maid, is appropriately dressed. Mrs Clarice Macalister, who takes the part of Mrs Latham, wears a smart American model in navy and white, with a neat navy veiled hat, for her first entrance, and a tailored suit in Air Force blue in the second act, while for her dinner gown in act 111. she has chosen lovely lustrous silver lame. Mrs Daphne Bowman, who plays Cicely Harden, uses a black-and-white suit for a striking effect in the firstact, and with it is worn a black halo' hat. For her afternoon frock in the second act she has chosen mustard and black, and in act 111. she appears in a dinner gown of rich white satin. Mrs Elsie Stephens (Harriet, the first Mrs Carroll), who appears for the first time in act 11., wears a smart navy blue frock and coat, with a navy hat, and in act 111. makes a charming picture in a black chiffon dinner frock.
