OBITUARY
DR ROBERT MAUNSELI [Per United Press Association.} AUCKLAND, November 28. After spending some time in general practice in Wellington, then as a doctor on overseas ships, and lastly as medical officer at the Hobsonville air base during tho past six months, /Dr Robert Maunsell, single, aged 45, died to-day (as the result of, illness) at the Auckland Hospital. He was the eldest son of Mr H. Maunsell, of Parnell. Dr Maunsell was born in Auckland and educated at the Otago Boys’ High School and the University of Otago, where he graduated M. 8., Ch.B., and then made further studios at Edinburgh University. He saw service at Gallipoli with tfxe 6th Reinforcements during the last war, and was invalided to Malta. Returning' to New Zealand after the war, he entered general practice in Wellington, living in Kelburn. 111-health was responsible for his retirement two years ago. After a period of convalescence he served as ship’s doctor on a number of vessels, including the Maunganui. Six months ago he was appointed medical officer at the Hobsonville air base, and he held this post at the time of his death.
