BULGARIA’S CLAIMS

REALISATION BY PEACEFUL MEANS DESIRED TURKEY'S ATTITUDE HOT UNDERSTOOD SOFIA, November 27. (Received November 28, at 12.5 p.m.) Bulgaria’s claims on her neighbours were raised in the National Assembly, but M. Kiosseivanov regretted M. Do'umanov’s statement and said: “ We are all working for peace in the Balkans. Bulgarians want only to realise their national claims peacefully. Our claims are extremely moderate. Every Bulgarian’s heart beats for Western Thrace, the outlet to the JGgean Sea,, which is essential for the development of prosperity. M. Stanciov declared that Yugoslavia should not pay too much attention to M. Doumanov, who in no way committed the Government or Parliament. “ Bulgaria’s friendliness and loyalty to Yugoslavia are well known” he said. “ I am far more concerned about Turkey’s attitude. I cannot understand Turkey’s irritation.” [A previous message stated: The Belgrade correspondent of the ‘ Daily Telegraph ’ says the former Bulgarian Prime Minister, M. Mushanov, answering in Parliament a statement by the Government spokesman, M. Doumanov, that Bulgaria claims frontier revision at the expense of Yugoslavia and Greece, accused the Government of not consulting Parliament and the people. He added, “ I demand to know if Bulgaria is for peace. I say that the people are for peace.” There is indignation at the Bulgarian claims on Yugoslavia and Macedonia. It is alleged that M. Doumanov is an agent provocateur, seeking to embroil Yugoslavia with Germany.]
