CENTENNIAL FILM

SPLENDID PICTURE OF HEW ZEALAND LIFE [Special to the ‘Star.’] WELLINGTON. November 28. The official Centennial tWm, ‘ One Hundred Crowded Years,’ was shown to a largo audience, including the Go-vernor-General and tho Prime Minister, to-day. Produced by the Department of Tourist Publicity, it is an excellent feature. It effectively suggests the most outstanding events from New Zealand’s first settlement to the present day, with many evidences of modem progress. The remarkable bird studies and some striking scenic glimpses should give tbe film a wide appeal!. Many Maoris take part in the production, which reaches its highest point of dramatic interest through their co-operation, while the reproduction of Native songs is excellent. The Minister of Publicity, Mr Langstone, stated that the film is being handed to the National Patriotic Fund Board to be utilised to assist its funds.
