HOSPITAL BOARD MEMBERS
INSURANCE AGAINST ACCIDENT [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November 27. The insurance against accident of members of the North Canterbury Hospital Board is to be provided under a policy to be taken out by the board. The Finance Committee of the board to-day made the following recommendation: —“ That, as provided in the recent Statutes Amendment Act, 1940, a personal accident insurance cover bo taken out to cover all members which will provide for the payment of £I.OOO for death or total permanent disablement. £SOO for permanent partial disablement, £6 a week for temporary total disablement, and £1 10s a week for temporary partial disablement. The cover will apply to accidents arising out of and in the course of the exercise bv members of their powers or duties as members of the board. It will attach from the time that members proceed on the board’s business, and will continue while they are engaged on such business and until they return to their place of residence or business. The cost of the cover will be £1 Gs 8d a member per annum.” The recommendation was adopted.
