NATIONAL RESERVE
FORMATION AT PORT CHALMERS Yesterday evening a successful meeting of returned soldiers and others was held at Port Chalmers to discuss tlio formation of a detached company of tho National Military Reserve. There were 80 returned men present, and 76 signed up for tho company. Captain C. T. Woodfield, of the National Military Reserve in Dunedin, and Captain J. Muir attended the meeting, and outlined the proposal to' those present. Mr D. Forsyth was in the chair, while Mr O. L. Forms and Mr J. M. White, of tho Dunedin R.S.A., were also present. The meeting was an enthusiastic one, and with the number who have already signified their willingness to join the Reserve, it is anticipated that two, and possibly three, platoons will be formed. , Apart from returned soldiers, class 3 men —that is, married men over 35 years of age, with two or more children —null be eligible to join the Reserve.
