SEAS BREAK ABOARD

WAHINE IN HEAVY WEATHER TWO HOURS LATE [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November 9. The interisland steamer Wahine, with 700 passengers, was two hours late this morning, due to heavy weather on the coast. The only damage done was to a lifeboat which was swung out from the davits; but the size of the seas breaking aboard was such that one roller left a small fish behind on deck. EXPRESS DELAYED DUE AT 5.15 TO-DAY The express which normally arrives in Dunedin at 4.18 p.m, was delayed at the Christchurch end, so that connection could be made by passengers and mails. A little of the lost time was made up on the journey between Christchurch and Oamaru, and the express was expected at Dunedin at about 5.15 this afternoon, approximately an hour behind time.
