“ R.S.F.”—The first motion pictures to be shown in Dunedin were screened in Wain’s Hotel building on November 20, 1893, under J, F. MacMahon’s direction. There were 12 subjects screened, the performances taking 30 minutes. Tho phonograph played incidental music. Tho tram lines were moved from King street in 1904.
