WEDDINGS

DUNN—HAMBLETON. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Peter’s Church on October 24, when. John James, only son of Mr Dunn, King street, was married to Mary Margaret (May), third daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Hambleton, M‘Bride street. The Rev. A. B. Pywell officiated. The church had been artistically decorated with bonds of purple, lavender, and white lilac. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother,' Mr A. L. Hambleton, looked

very charming in a gown of ivory laco over taifeta, cut on classical lines. Her billowy tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, and was worn over the face on entering the church. Sho wore a string of crystal beads and carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The bridesmaids, Miss Dorothy Hambleton (sister of the bride) and Miss Phyllis Chavc, wore attired alike in long (lowing frocks of ivory georgette with silver and ivory turbans and silver shoes. They wore crystal beads and carried bouquets of tulips, freezias, and rosebuds in pink and lavender tonings. The bridegroom was attended by Mr S. W. Hambleton, as best man, the groomsman being Mr W. Simpson. Messrs T. Atkinson and E. Child acted' as ushers. The reception was held in the Security Hall, where the guests were welcomed by Mrs A. Hambleton, who wore a burgundy frock with hat, shoes, and gloves to match, and a mole fur cape; she carried a bouquet of shaded tulips. Mrs T. Atkinson, who assisted her, was attired in a white georgette frock with n fur coat, and carried a bouquet of shaded tulips. After the reception, the hundred and twenty guests indulged in dancing interspersed with items. Songs were given by Miss Ruby Price, tap dances by Miss Audrey Wheeler, and a Highland dance by Miss Doreen Currie. The happy couple left later by.car for the north, the bride travelling in a floral frock, with black ed'ge-to-edge coat, black hat, and accessories.
