SHOOTING FATALITY, The body of John Devenuey, a ma* ried man, aged 59, was found yester* day morning with gunshot wounds iri his throat. The body was lying nea< a fence and the gun was underneath* An inquest was opened to-day at Ran* furly and adjourned. SEVERELY INJURED BY EXPLOSION. Leslie Flintoff (26). single, engaged on public works near Paringa Lake. South Westland, had his right hand blown off and both legs injured above the knees by an explosion when preparing a charge. The journey to the Westland Hospital took 16 hours.—Hokitik* Press Association. BABY BURNED. Lawrence Young, aged 17 months, pulled a pot of hot fat over himself yesterdav evening, suffering burn* on his face and neck. The mishap occurred in the kitchen of his parents’ home at 5 Walter street. Cavcrsham. and the child was admitted to hospital.
