—Vice-Regal.—-After a round of official functions yesterday, their Excellencies, the Gover-nor-General and JLady Galway attended a civic farewell at the Town Hall Concert Chamber last night. They left for the south this morning. Mr P. X eilson, M.P., returned last night from Wellington. Mr D. A. Young left this morning for Wellington, where he will attend a sitting of'the Public Service Appeal Board, The Secretary for Labour (Mr H. E. Moston) and Mr M. F. J. Jackson, chief clerk, Department of Labour, arrived from the north yesterday afternoon. The Presbytery of Dunedin has nominated the Rev. John Davie to the General Assembly for the office of Moderator-designate. Among the appointments that have been made to the staff df the Waiouru military camp are the following;—Commandant, Colonel C. G. Powles; senior medical officer, Lieutenant-colonel J. H. G. Robertson. Messrs A. M. Cameron. R. L. Fairmaid, T. C, Ross, and W. H. Adams have been elected to the committee of the Presbyterian Social Service Association. Guests at the City Hotel include Mr and Mrs R. T. Dalziel (Sydney), Mr H. H. Higgins, Mrs W. Higgins, Miss J. Higgins, Mr J. Abel, Mrs W. A. Crawford, Mr H. D. George, Mr E. W. Tlmrgood (Wellington), Miss J. Scandrett (Invercargill).
