At the annual meeting of the Soutls Islands Travel Association at Christchurch Mr H. L. Gibson was re-elected: - president and Mr J. A. Harley vice- -1 president. Mr C. H. Ciibbom was appointed treasurer. Dr J. C. Cable, a member of tha Royal College of Physicians, and a son of Mr Matthew Cable, general manager of the Wellington Tramways and Electricity Department, has been appointed) senior assistant to the Dunedin Hospital, and is now on his way from England. Dr Gable has been in England for the past four years and a-half, gain- • ing a wide range of experience in representative hospitals. He was on the staiij of the London Chest Hospital, and laterj served in the Redhill Hospital, Edgeware, London, in the National Hospital for Diseases of the Heart, Westmoreland street, London, and the Dudley) Road Municipal Hospital, Birmingham* Guests at the Excelsior Hotel include Mr E.
