BALLOT APPEALS
LOCAL MANPOWER COMMITTEE The Manpower Committee appointed to deal with appeals in the Otago district from men drawn in the recent ballot received altogether 380 appeals, and so far has dealt with 141 of these. The decisions of the committee were as follows; '
Appeals dismissed outright ... ... 18 Appeals dismissed, with certain exemptions for seasonal work ... 66 Appeals adjourned for a short term 8 Appeals adjourned sine die (mostly temporary unfit men) 45 Appeals withdrawn 4 The committee hopes to complete the hearing of the balance of the appeals within the next 10 days.
