OUT OF CONTROL

GAR CRASHES INTO POLE DRIVER INJURED When control of a motor car travelling down tile Caversham Valley road yesterday afternoon was lost, one man was injured and considerable damage was done to the car and an electric light pole with which it collided. The driver, Frank M’Elrea, a sales manager aged 27, living at Dornoch street, Kew, had his right leg fractured, necessitating his admission to the Hospital. The car was apparently passing another vehicle also city bound, when control was lost It crashed into an electric light pole near tho Caversham tram terminus, breaking it in two, four or five feet above the ground. The lower portion was forced back into tho bodywork of tho car as far as the driver’s -seat. The injured man had a passenger in the car, a relative, Robert M’Elrea, who was slightly injured by flying glass.
