169 PLANES DESTROYED
NAZI LOSSES ON THURSDAY
LONDON, August 16. (Received August 17, at 9.5 a.m.)
It is officially announced that 169 German planes were brought down on Thursday. Thirty-four British planes were lost, but the pilots of 17 are safe.
