CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP
NEW ZEALAND UNIVERSITIES AUCKLAND WINS WITH DTAGO F.UNNEN-UF [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 17. Auckland University College won the Dixon Trophy in the annual N*,v Zealand University cross-country championships. Filling first, third, seventh, and tenth places, Auckland was six points ahead of Otago with second, fifth, eighth, and twelfth places. The race was held over a six-and-a-quar-ter-mile course at Cashmere. A. G. Kofoed (Auckland) was first, 300yds ahead of A. C. Coombes (Otago). The winner’s time was 38min 47sec.
Otago won the South Island championship and Carmalt Jones Cup comfortably from Canterbury.
