Simple words, most of them in everyday use, are used in this weekly crossword, entry in which is free to ‘ Sports Special ’ readers. The first correct solution opened will be awarded three (3) tickets in the current national art union (of which the first prize is £2,000); the second correct solution opened will receive two (2) 'tickets, and the third will receive one (1) ticket. Prizes will be posted promptly, and the winners’ names and addresses published, together with the correct solution, in the following issue of the Sports Special.’ Although the solution is known only to the crossword editor, members of the staff of the 4 Evening Star ’ Company Ltd. are. not eligible for the competition. So far as is known, there are no alternatives. The following conditions must be observed: —(1) The printed blank must be used and must be filled in distinctly; (2) name and address must be attached; (3) solution must be addressed “ Crossword Editor,” and bo lodged at the ‘ Evening Star’ Office by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday following the Saturday of publication; (4) not more than one entry may bo sent in by any one person; (5) no correspondence may be entered into.
