SKELETON IN PADDOCK
LONG EXPOSURE EVIDENT [Per United Press Association.] TIMARU, August 10. The skeleton of a European male adullt was discovered yesterday on the property of Mr John Courtney, Fairview, near Timaru. It was practically concealed in gorse. The discovery was made by Mr J. Wilcock, of Timaru, who was out for a walk. Hearing a weasel attacking a rabbit, he went into a paddock to investigate, and found the skeleton. Judging by the stage of disintegration it had been in the paddock a long.time. % Only>a few-fragments of clothing on the skeleton, near which were a grey felt hat, two watches, and minor articles. No money was found. On the bones of the feet were boots of the stout working type. The police are endeavouring to establish identity.
