HARRIERS

ST. KILDA.

The St. Kilda Club held its run from the Mornington School, under-the leadership of Deputy Captain J. Fraser. A fair muster ran down Stone street and back into tho hills behind Mornington, eventually reaching Fraser’s Gully. From here a steady pace was maintained back to the Kaikorai Valley road and then back up Stone street to the school. In a short run home A. Wilson was first in, closely followed by 11. Tomkins and W. Paterson. __ Members were pleased to see L. M'Kay out again, with E. Fraser and K. Jakeway. Led by Deputy Captain M. Spam, the colts had a very enjoyable run around the hills above Anderson’s Pay. 1. Egan, L. Egan, S. Penman, and 11. Jones all showed up during the run, which was held from Mrs Beatson’s residence in Cranston street, Anderson s Bay. CELTIC UNITED. The run was held from the Christian Brothers’ School. The fast pack ran to the Brighton road and back via Kaikorai road. No run homo was hold, but Carrol, Daly, Kennelly, and Pettit were prominent throughout. The medium pack, under Captain Paterson, held a run up to Fraser’s Gully and back. In the run home P. Venning was first, closely followed by M. Fay and 11. Kelly. The colts held a very enjoyable run. There Was no run home, but Cameron, Kennelly, and Croxford showed good form. BAPTIST. Tho Baptist Harriers left the Northeast Valley Baptist Church under Captain J. Stewart, who led the pack to Normauby, and turned up Antrim street, then by way of a track came out on the top of Signal Hill. The trail Jed across the very best of harrier country 7. After a circuitous route and the Climbing of many fences, the pack came out on the North road just above the Brown House. The slow pack returned to the church, proceeding down the High road. In the final sprint A. Dixon led in, closely followed by _D. Clark and V. Kitt,' Tho road racing pack, on reaching the North road, turned north for about a mile and a half, and returned to the church, making a good pace all the w r ay. Throughout, H. Campbell and H. Benfell w’ere prominent. ANGLICAN. The Anglican Club held their weekly run from the St. Clair Baths. There was a change of leadership, Actingcaptain Alf. Marrett, who is down on leave, taking the boys for an enjoyable run over the hills. The trail led from the . baths up tho Cliffs road, and, branching across country to Tunnel Beach. Carruthers, Trezise, and Payne reached the beach first. From there a good hill climb followed, and then across a ploughed paddock, tlic pack striking the road over Black Head way. A good non-stop run was then held past the St. Clair golf links. Marrett, benefiting from Army life, led the pack home, ana was followed by Carradus and Wilson. MORNINGTON. The run was from Caversham Methodist Hall. Tho slow pack, led by Deputy-captain W. N. Burrows, ran to Look-out Point and down to the Valley road. The pack then ran to Mount Grand and across country to Green Island station, running home via Main South road. Fred Tombs again led the field most of the way, W. Gardiner also being prominent. The fast pack held a combined run with some of the Leith harriers. CAVERSHAM. Caversham had a large muster of thirty runners, and held a very enjoyable run from the Mornington School. The fast pack, under C. M'Gregor, ran to the Coach and Horses and return on the road all tho way. A run home was held from Look Out Point to the school, and was won by G. L. Austin, with L. L. Hebbard second and C. M'Gregor third. The juniors ran across country to Mount Grand and from there to Green Island, following tho road back to the school. No run home was held. The slow pack, under F. M'Kay, ran to Balmacewen, up the hill to Highgate. A. run home was held from the Roslyn Fire Station. Roy Dawson was first, closely followed by D. Beatson and J. Cook. LEITH. The Leith Club ran from the Caversham Methodist Church in two packs —the road pack and a cross-country pack. The cross-country pack left under the leadership of the captain and made a fast run to the top of Lookout Point, and down the paddocks to the back of the freezing works. They then cut across country to the back of Green Island Station and on, to the Main road. They then proceeded at a fast jog along the road to Short street. From the railway bridge there was a fast run home. 1), Arthur and G. Doig showed out prominently along with R. Rigby. The road pack bad a run with the Mornington road pack to Brighton Swamp and back, from where they had a race home, with G. Munro 1, F. Crooke 2, and D. Fincham 3.
