Samuel Alexander Burns. . —Oamaru. — Robert Makison Lennox. , COASTAL DEFENCE, At present no further men are needed for coastal defence, therefore no more will be accepted for registration in this branch of the service in the meantime. It is, however, suggested that all men between the ages of 19 arid 21 who intended to register for coastal_ defence should register for the Territorials, and they will soon have an opportunity of going into camp, MEN FOR CAMP.The registration office receives a large number of inquiries as to when the next draft is to proceed to camp. These inquiries entail a considerable amount of work and loss of time in a busy office. The officer in ‘charge advises that recruits can rest assured that when a draft is to proceed to camp they will be informed immediately. There is no necessity to continue writing or ringing the office. INQUIRIES. The registration office again stresses that those desiring to ring on business should use the new phone, No. 24-090, as this will obviate loss of time for all concerned. MOUNTED RIFLES TRAINING As part of the intensive training schemes now being carried out by Territorial units, the officers and non-com-missioned officers of mounted rifles regiments will attend a course of training in September and October. The unit camps for such regiments will be held in February, March, and April of next year.
