CENTENNIAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

The box plans for the Centennial Music Festival, May 11 to May 20, will be opened to-morrow morning at Hegg’s. Intending patrons are advised of the generous concessions available to purchasers of season tickets. These admit to any one of the three ‘ Faust ’ performances and to each of the other programmes. The greatest attraction of the festival week is undoubtedly the appearance of an array_ of overseas soloists, who come to New Zealand right at the height of their fame. Seldom before has the public had the opportunity of hearing in one set of programmes artists of the calibre of Isobel Uaillie (soprano), Heddle Nash (tenor). Oscar Natzke (bass), Raymond Beatty and Frank Rcrmingham (baritones). Andersen Tyrcr comes with a reputation as a conductor of outstanding ability, and under his guidance the Centennial Choir. ‘ Faust 1 chorus, and Centennial Orchestra should give authoritative and inspiring performances.
