This amounted to 35,000 ducks, and it was emphasised that this number was not complete, a largo number of small creeks and ponds not being covered. , A recommendation that no open season for the shooting of opossums should be held this year was forwarded to the Department of Internal Affairs in answer to a communication from it. The secretary of the Southland Society advised that’his council had decided on the same recommendation.
