RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION MEETING At the annual meeting of the Northeast Harbour Ratepayers and Householders’ Association held last night at Macandrew Bay, over which Mr J. F. Nelson presided, several members congratulated the president and members of the committee on the excellent work carried out during the year and on the healthy state of the association’s finance. * , . ' Mention was made of the beautification scheme for the Dunedin-Harring-ton Point highway initiated by, the Dunedin Amenities Societyand now being carried on by the Peninsula subbranch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association as a centennial memorial. The following motion was carried:— “ That the association and returned soldiers .approach the Peninsula County Council with a request that a by-law be framed to enable the association to prosecute any person wilfully causing damage to the shrubs and trees planted under the scheme.” The election of officers resulted as follows:—Chairman. Mr H. A. Foote; deputy chairman. Mr J. F. Nelson; secretary, Mr W. E. Quartermain; treasurer, Mr W. R. Budd: auditor, Mr J. R. Spence: committee—Messrs Sutherland, MTherson, Hartley, (Thompson, and Jensen.
