SKEET MATCH A handicap skeet match was held on the Dunedin Gun Club’s grounds at Green Island- on Saturday afternoon, when the sky was overcast and there was a cold south-westerly wind. The best performance was put up by J. Stiven, who broke 23 targets, the only targets ha missed being the low-trap target at station 4 and the high-trap target at station 8. G. E. Turner and R. M’Donald both broke 21. The result of the handicap was as follows, each break counting four points—a possible. of 100:-
Tho next match, a 15-bird handicap, shot on the five-track system, resulted in a tie, S. Gcddes (14yds) and W. Morland (12yds) both breaking 10 birds. They were followed by R. Maxwell (12yds), J. Stiven o.syds). and W; Elliott (18yds). 9; G. E. Turner (18yds), R. M’Donald (18yds), and T. Woodford (12yds), 8. Mr W. R. Morland was the referee.
SOCCER D£.A. MEETING Tile weekly meeting ■of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association was held last, evening,' Mr M. ,K. Haig being in the chair. The Canterbury Association.forwarded: an invitation for an Otago team to visit Christchurch, on June. 3 (King’s Birthday) to play for the J. E. Jones Cup. At the same time the secretary also advised that arrangements had been made, for a match between Dunedin and Christchurch Training College teams, and it was proposed to play this game as a curtain-raiser.—lt was decided to accept the invitation. Technical : College Old Boys’ application for the transfer of B. Coventry from Seatoun Club was referred to the New Zealand Council, and one : for the transfer of H.
