INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
OPENS TUESDAY, MAY 22 TEACHING STAFF ANNOUNCED When the second school terra for 1940 begins on Tuesday, May 22, the Macandrew Road Intermediate School will be opened. By that date all the classrooms will be finished, although work on the assembly hall will probably not be completed. This school will train children in Standards V. and VI., and they will be drawm from Forbury, St. Clair, Caversham, and, of course, the former Macandrew Road Primary School. Children in the standards below Standard V. who formerly attended Macandrew Road have already been distributed among the other three schools on the Flat affected by this change. This means that from nest.term only infants and children up to Standard IV. will be taught at Forbury, St. Clair, and Caversham, and as soon ns they are ready to pass into the Fifth Standard they they will go on to the Intermediate School. This school will have the former head master of the Macandrew Road School, Mr A. M‘R. Davidson, M.A., Dip. Ed., as principal, and his staff will comprise;—Senior male assistant, Mr B. F. Simonsen; second male assistant, Mr C. W. Briggs. M.A.; other male assis-; tants—Messrs IT. D. Morgan. 8.A.. T. K. Stickle. D. I. Elliot, and L. Hub-! bard ; senior female assistant. Miss S. E. Foster: second female assistant. Miss D. C. Pinfold. 8.A.; other female assistants—Misses .T. N. Hendry. 8.A.. O. A. M‘R"c. 1. M. Donald, 1. M. Stuart, and K. B. Smith.
