Civilisation is the butt of many jokes, and this is one of the-new ones. It concerns a raft crowded with shipwrecked sailors drifting aimlessly m mid-ocean. The men had' almost given up hope when one of them shouted that he had seen good news in the sky, and cried out: “ Cheer up, mates, we can’t be far from civilisation now; a couple of bombers have just gouo over.”
