Accounts totalling £5,460 17s Bd, including £3,666 3s 4d for electricity, were passed for payment. Mr J. B. M'Gill reported that a deputation had waited on the Controller of Electrical Supplies, and ’set before him the position concerning the Central Otago extensions, where the material for the work was already on the ground. No satisfaction had been obtained, the representative stating that he would put the facts before the Controller. A month had elapsed and no further word had been received.— He moved that, if no word was received within a week, the board should communicate with the Controller. Advice was received that the new engineer (Mr J._ H. Gardiner) will take up his duties in about three weeks’ time. Mr Gardiner, who will fill the position from which Mr R. D. Veitch recently resigned, has been em-
ployed by the Wairarapa Electric Power Board for the past IS years. In accordance with the notice of motion given at last meeting, the board made an addition to the regulations providing for the imposition of a collection fee on overdue accounts and for a fee to cover the cost of reconnection if a supply was temporarily cut off because of overdue accounts.
