ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

MOSGIEL CLUB'S MEETING The annual meeting of the Mosgiel Association Football Club was held in the club’s pavilion. There was a good attendance. The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. In moving their adoption, the chairman said that in endeavouring to build up a club which would bo in keeping with the size of the town the committee had, during the past three seasons, made special efforts to encourage junior players, and the season- just past had been the most successful in the history of the club in that . respect.. Congratulations were extended to the various teams on the success achieved last season. . •

The following office-bearers were elected:—Patron, Mr W. Goughian; president, Mr A. Ives; vice-president, Mr J. A. Ryan; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Hall; assistant secretary, Mr C. Skinner; committee, Messrs W. Rogers, R. Clark, E. Kenrick, H. Mills, A. Kenrick; delegates to, A.F.A., Messrs H. Mills and A. Hall. It was decided to send a remit to the O.F.A. meeting to the effect that Logan Park be left out of the playing areas this season as there was a possibility of fewer games in consequence of ivar conditions.

Mr Hall suggested that the _ club should make more use of junior players, and take every opportunity to improve them; also, to take steps to foster, the game in local schools. If a fourth grade team could be included it would make a full bill.

After discussing the difficulties of carrying on sport under war conditions, the meeting decided to make every endeavour to play in all grades. The opening of the season was fixed for . March 30.

A comprehensive vote of thanks was passed to all who had rendered assistance, special mention being made of the help given by Messrs A. Ives and A. M‘Coy.
