VICTORIAN POLITICS

VOTING FOR LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ELECTION OF ONLY MINOR INTEREST Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, March 15. After a vigorous State election campaign, in which the candidates have been unable to whip up much public interest in State politics, the election will take place to-morrow for the 65 seats in the Legislative Assembly. As State Parliaments exert little influence on the conduct of the war effort, the issues involved are regarded publicly as of minor interest.

The indications are that the present regime, the Country Party Government, will be kept in office, with Labour support likely to continue. This alliance can lose nine seats and still have a working majority.
