MAYORAL CRITIC [Per United Press Association.] OAMARU, March 15. Expressing disappointment with the municipal conference, held recently in Wellington, the Mayor of Oamaru (Mr K. Familton) referred to it at the Borough Council meeting as a “ glorified By-laws Committee ” with no broad policy dealing with the interests of the people. He thought the association should take a more paternal and less technical interest in the cities and boroughs, and alter the procedure of the conference, giving a wider outlook.
