BREAKAWAY MOVEMENT

EXTREMIST POLICY ADVOCATED LONDON, March. 14. (Received March 15, at 1 p.m.) The ex-President of Congress, Mr Subhas Bose, told the Calcutta correspondent of the British United Press that he was leading a breakaway movement repudiating Mr Gandhi’s Indian independence poEcy. “We differ on three vital points,” he said. “ Firstly, we want complete independence, like the United States. Mr Gandhi would accept dominion status, like -Canada’s; Secondly, we want to continue the campaign for independence, despite the war. Mr Gandhi favours its postponement. Thirdly, we want progressive industrialism, while Mr Gandhi insists on fostering his pet hobbies, like Prohibition and handicraft.”
