Hospital administration costs in New Zealand and Australia compare favourably with those of any part of the world, while the estimated construction costs of tbe new hospital for Auckland were considerably lower than the expenditure incurred for Any recentlyerected hospital in Britain, said Mr A, G. Stephenson, the Australian architect who is co-operating with the Auckland hospital architect, and who returned in the Monterey to-day. “ The organisation of English hospitals on a war footing is extraordinarily efficient,” said Mr Stephenson. “ Over 75 per cent, of patients have been transferred to safer areas since the outbreak of war. The completeness of the scheme for handling this tremendous war activity must command the admiration of the world.”
