With three, weqks of the financial year to go, the Exchequer returns show that the total of ordinary revenue ■mounts to . £974,480,480, compared i with-.the revised War Budget estimate of £995,180,000 and with £859,731,074 atithe corresponding date last year. 1 -The yield of Customs already exceeds the estimate of £239,600,000 by '■£5,165,000; The receipts from income taxStdtnh£363,ss9,ooo, compared with £390,000,000: estimated in the Budget and £309,858,000 a year ago; .The total expenditure, less selfbalancing items, is £1,160,863,311, against £883,536,086 at the corresponding doto last year. The estimated total expenditure was £1,431,127,000. The , floating debt outstanding is £2,506,665,000, an increase of £586,355,000 since the beginning of the financial year, and _ of £606,480,000 since the corresponding date in 1939.
